Yizkor Memorial Book
$18.00

The Yizkor service on Yom Kippur morning is an important element of the High Holiday experience. The word yizkor means “remember,” and this service is an opportunity to honor the memory of those close to us who have passed away – parents, siblings, and children, as well as grandparents and other relatives, friends and colleagues, and victims of war and terror.

As in years past, Shaare Zedek will print a Yizkor book for 5784 – to be used at all four Yizkor services of the year (on Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Pesach, Shavuot) – that will include the Yizkor liturgy along with the names of your departed loved ones.

In the traditional liturgy that we read together during the Yizkor service, we do not simply remember those we have lost. We also pledge tzedakah on their behalf, requesting that the credit for our good works be counted towards their merits. This pledge presents a special opportunity to support the synagogue in their names.

Please submit your names for the memorial book by Monday, September 18.

We ask for a minimum donation of $18 per name. After you choose the quantity and press "Add to Cart" you will be prompted to list the names you would like to include in this year's book.
