Welcome to Shaare Zedek's Kiddush Sponsorship Page! We hope this website will answer many of your questions about kiddush sponsorship. If you've already signed up to be a sponsor, please use the Sample Menus and Itemized Menu to help create the menu for your kiddush lunch. Then use the contact page for information on how to submit your choices, ask questions, and get price quotes. If you are interested in sponsoring a kiddush please see the sponsorship calendar for open dates and then contact the synagogue office at 212-874-7005 or office@sznyc.org. About Shaare Zedek Kiddush: Kiddush lunches are a highly valued and important aspect of the Shaare Zedek experience. We are happy to be able to offer lunch every Shabbat because of the generous support and sponsorship from our community. Our Kiddush Coordinator, Sarah Eson, cooks each week's kiddush from scratch right in the Shaare Zedek kitchen. Sarah enjoys the new experiences and creativity that come with creating a different menu each week. "Food can connect us to our past. In fact, food is often our very
last and only connection to our pasts, enduring long after the old
language has been forgotten and other traditions have died. There's
many a Jew, for instance, who identifies as a Jew mainly through his or
her love of pastrami, or potted briskit, or chicken soup with matzo
balls." - From the introduction to Arthur Schwartz's Jewish Home Cooking |
