Celebrate seven years of Chai at Shaare Zedek with services, a festive meal, and honorees!
It’s now been seven years since Chadeish Yameinu (Chai) began. Since its inception, Chai has grown and thrived, providing a traditional, egalitarian, participatory, and spirited community on the Upper West Side, particularly appealing to young professionals. Here are just a few things Chai brings to the (Shabbat) table:
- Every other Friday night, Chai meets for Kabbalat Shabbat followed by an intimate Kiddush.
- At least once a month, Chai hosts a delicious three-course Shabbat dinner.
- Chai presents holiday celebrations and onegs at various times of year to mark truly special occasions in the community. Just try our Simchat Torah snacks!

Kabbalat Shabbat services will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by dinner. This year, we will be honoring four members of the Chai community who have done so much for us over the years:
